2024 LA events
In 2020, Postcards for Democracy launched in the midst of lockdown so any activities, events, exhibitions were held within those restrictions. Now, for the first time, the project will be celebrated in its city of conception... Los Angeles. So come and join us across Greater LA's universities, parks, libraries, community centers, airwaves, museums and the occasional sidewalk!

Giant Collection Box Unveil at 8760 Sunset

8760 Sunset Blvd, W Hollywood, CA 90069Special day for Mark and Beatie as a giant collection box will be installed outside Postcards for Democracy's HQ and iconic Oscar Niemeyer designed "8760 Sunset Blvd".
To mark the occasion they have invited a few special guests to be the first to make and mail from this monolith.
The installation will be in place until after the election with Mark and Beatie holding impromptu pop-up postcard creation tables.

Family Voting Festival (Democracy Center)

100 N Central Ave, LA, CA 90012Postcards for Democracy will be at the Democracy Center as they serve as an official Los Angeles County Vote Center from November 2–5, 2024. The Democracy Center will celebrate the most important civic action you can take—the right to vote. Bring the whole family out for a full day. Our community resource fair will connect you to important services from the county and local organizations. And, of course, you’ll be able to vote on-site. You can cast your vote at the Vote Center or bring your completed mail-in ballot and drop it off.
Sister Mary Corita legacy day

3910 Los Feliz Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027Postcards for Democracy joins Corita Art Center on November 23rd at The Philosophical Research Society for a day of family-friendly art making, readings and conversation, performance and film screenings, and a holiday pop-up shop—all in celebration of Corita’s legacy!
For the first time art highlights from the thousands submitted during 2024 will be exhibited along side new work created at the art stations.
